Nosegay on her wrist. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosegay for a definition.
Stunning.
I liked the green background, with the green on the Adirondack chair in the foreground. The brown fence, I wish I could have just torn down, but it does help add contrast.
Not perfect, but as I said to her mother later, anytime Jessica wants to model, I’m ready to hire her! I was thinking of a “Trash the Dress” session in a 2nd hand wedding gown.
Sound interesting?

From a recent session.
The costs in personal angst:
Spending the whole day with your Mom and Best Friend getting ready for your Prom: $$
Putting up with your Mom having some guy take your portrait: $$$$
Having a photograph which illuminates your beauty: Priceless
Note: I had very little time to get the job done, two beautiful ladies to work with, and I think I pulled out a nice one in this capture.
I’m happy to be able to occasionally look at my work and say Wow!
Photography is so much fun! I’ve learned a bunch from a great group of photographers on Flickr and elsewhere. I’ve got so much more to learn.
Learn by doing!

This evening, we gave ourselves a treat of a dinner out together.
We had a nice relaxing time, sharing the plans, and occasionally giggling.
On the way home, I had my camera ready, since the sunset looked like a good one.
This is one of a series I took as we traveled back to our nest.
My window open, my eye was looking for good framing for the sunset. Lots of overhead wires confounded me, but this one was almost perfect out of the camera.
Not too bad for traveling 35 miles per hour (~56Km/h). One eye on the focus screen, one eye on the road ahead. My co-pilot helped.
I love the serenity of this one. I need all the calm I can get at the moment.

I, of course, had my camera already in hand!
I took a quick snap, then as the bunny didn’t move, I slowly crept closer and kept snapping away.
This one had me bending way low for a different perspective.
Karen likes the one where I caught bunny in the air as it took off.
In any case, it was a welcome sight after a long day.

A one bedroom house.
Cozy.
What I might have dismissed as a dud, looks interesting to me.
The dog – Lucy – moved and my Karen waltzed by, just when I clicked on the shutter release.
The result – Art!

We took them out to dinner and spent time after with them at their place.
A good time had by all.
I’m pleased that I got Tom to smile. He usually has a stern look (he’s not stern, it’s his “Camera look”).
I noted that it was almost 29 years ago, that Tom & Mary were in the same position that Karen and I find ourselves – about to be in-laws to our child’s spouse! I said “The shoes are on our feet now!”
I’m finding them to be comfortable shoes. So far. =)

Stepped out of my vehicle and this Robin took a glance at me. She was saying “take my picture!”
So I did.
I had my Tamron 70-300mm lens at the ready. It’s a nice starter telephoto. Compared to my 50mm, I can really see the difference quality glass can make in a DSLR kit.
I’m also realizing that I have to push myself to work with manual focus, to get the quick but hard shots taken.
I like the grain and contrast this one has. ISO is 1100, and there’s a nice film-like quality to the grain. It fits well with the texture in the grass.
Love the green as well. It makes a nice backdrop for our subject, Robin Red-Breast.
For your enjoyment on this Friday evening.
