Taken with my now dearly departed, as in stolen, Olympus C2100UZ, a delightful camera with a wonderful lens.
Some of the most beautiful beach views anywhere. Karen and I try to make it down there once a year to restore our souls and give our love some together time. Our busy lives need that restoration. We feel like it’s a honeymoon all over again.
Sleeping at night with the sound of the ocean is a tonic of rare (to this Mid-Westerner) relaxation. The smell of the saltwater in the air within the cool breezes clears out all my sinuses and gives me energy.
Hilton Head, South Carolina has some great building limitations which create a green paradise. I recall our first trip, and not being able to see the Wal-Mart from the road for all the trees and sign limitations.
There’s a town nearby, Beaufort, which has an historic district with much of the area untouched by the Civil War destruction. Many examples of homes and structures from the antibellum period. History in stone and wood. Full of fascinating shops, restaurants and places to explore. Be sure to try the she-crab soup!
